On April 19, in the conference hall of the main building of the VSU, a simulation game "The European Parliament session on migration crisis” took place.

The event was held in the framework of the Jean Monnet project "European identity through the prism of the EU policy" (PolidEU), implemented by the department of French philology with the financial support of the EU.

The Jean Monnet project manager, the head of the department of French philology E. Alexeyeva in her welcoming speech stressed the importance of such events, based on the principles of communicative and task-based approaches to learning a foreign language and the method of projects, for the development of professional competencies for future specialists in the field of linguistics.

The head of the department of international projects and programs A. Akulshina noted the high level of preparation of the events, which are held by the department of French Philology within the framework of the Jean Monnet PolidEU project.

The PolidEU project team was glad to see attending the simulation game a visiting expert, teacher of the Higher School of Economics in Paris, Vyacheslav Aveutsky, who is on a visit to Voronezh within the framework of the MBA program - a joint project of the VSU and the Higher School of Economics in Paris. During the game, he took an active part in the discussion of the speeches.

The students of the 3rd and 4th years of studies of the French and German departments of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology took part in the simulation game. They represented the EU countries and spoke about the situation during the immigration crisis (social, demographic, economic, political consequences, problems and measures taken for their solution). The event was held with a consecutive translation into Russian, performed by students of translation field of studies at the departments of French and German philology.

All speakers were awarded with certificates confirming their participation in the event.
