International forum

International forum “European higher education area: agenda to move forward” that took place on 16-20 May 2017 provided a platform for a number of activities aimed at discussing opportunities for participating in European educational and research programmes as well as practical aspects of preparing and carrying out projects and studying best-practice examples. The forum attracted representatives from the Russian and European universities and organizations, including international guests and participants from Russian regions from Kaliningrad to Yakutia.

International scientific conference

International conference “Europe at the crossroads – XXI century” was the key event held in the framework of the forum. The conference was attended by leading European and Russian experts in the field of European studies. The key issues concerning development of European civilization such as European identity, ethnic and cultural diversity in the context of changing Europe, geopolitical interests and search for new borders were discussed during the conference.

Training seminar

Training seminar “Implementation of European projects: financial and administrative issues” aimed at studying aspects concerning finances and management in the EU-funded projects was carried out by Mr Alain Labatut, European expert in the field of project management (regional government of Andalusia, Spain). The best practice experience was presented afterwards on the examples of successful projects and projects implemented at VSU in the framework of Jean Monnet Actions (“ProEU”, “EXE PRS”, “PolidEU”, “EULap”, “EUMig” and “SHEXP”).
