PolidEU Project Manager, Head of the department of French Philology Elena Alekseeva took part in the Third International Jean Monnet Day "Regions and Interregional Cooperation in the European Union", which was held in Lille, France on April 27, 2017.

The event, dedicated to the study of the problems of the region as a territorial and socio-political entity, mediating between the level of local government and central authority, was organised by the University of Lille 1 in partnership with the General Council of the region Haut de France. Elena Alekseeva delivered a plenary report and conducted a discussion on "International cooperation with European countries as a factor in fostering the image and identity of the Russian region on the example of the Voronezh region".

The report presented the economic, innovative, cultural, educational potential of the Voronezh region, examples of its European cooperation. The report concentrated as well on the achievements of VSU in the sphere of relations with European universities, participation of the university in the European program Erasmus +, the VSU positions in the ratings. As an example of such cooperation, E. Alexeeva presented the Jean Monnet project PolidEU.

The proposed topic aroused a lively response and numerous questions from those present, including university workers, researchers, representatives of business, and public organizations.
