European Higher education from the perspective of Russian students

International conference “European higher education from the perspective of Russian students” took place on 18-20 May in the framework of EHE PRS project. During the event the presentations were made by the international guests. They were heads of International Offices and coordinators of students’ mobility from the University of Seville (Spain), Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (France), Polytechnical Institute of Tomar (Portugal); Institute of Slavic Philology of Debrecen University (Hungary).

The section “Challenges and opportunities of international students at the EU universities: Russian perspective” included presentations of the Russian experts from Tomsk State University and Ogarev Mordovia State University. Experience of Voronezh State University was shared by the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology.

The speakers discussed such aspects of international academic mobility as internationalisation at home as a strategy of integrating incoming students into the university community, ways of facilitating students’ adaptation to learning requirements, influence that academic mobility has on the employability of students. The presenters also informed students about the opportunities to study at their universities.

The seminar “Methodology and Ethic of studying at European university” was held by Dr. Rupert Beinhauer, project manager at the University of Applied Sciences FH JOANNEUM (Graz, Austria), on the second day of the conference. Students who took part in academic mobility programmes were among the participants.

Results of the research “European Higher education from the perspective of Russian students” conducted in the framework of EHE PRS project were presented to the audience to provoke discussions and consider ways to improve students’ learning experience.
